Karen & Jennifer Tallent
Owners, The Groves on 41
Karen Tallent and her husband moved to the Central Coast a few years back and planted 4000 olive trees on their Templeton farm, The Groves on 41. Karen’s daughter Jennifer left the corporate world in hospitality and joined operations shortly afterwards to help launch their private event and wedding venue operations.
Members of the SLO Farm Bureau, California Women in Agriculture, California Olive Oil Council and the Central Coast Olive Growers, Karen & Jennifer’s passion for farming, marketing and education combine to offer lively farm tours, and olive oil tasting parties with food pairing. Karen is currently co-authoring a guidebook featuring the local growers, their farm stories & award winning oils. Working titled "Guide to artisan CALIFORNIA OLIVE OILS on the Central Coast" is due out later this year.
The Groves on 41, a CA Corporation, is a working olive farm, a vacation rental and host to a multitude of private parties and functions throughout the year. From corporate team building & conferences, to wedding parties up to 175 people the property offers many outdoor options as well as a 3000 square foot finished barn for year round enjoyment. Their award winning extra virgin olive oils (EVOO) include their versatile, signature flavors Raspberry & Praline along with Lemon, Tangerine, Basil, and Garlic all crafted from their base certified Arbequina EVOO.
